About the Author

Rohit Saran is the managing editor of The Times of India. He has served as executive editor of The Times of India, The Economic Times, and India Today, and was editor-in-chief of Business Today, Khaleej Times, and Times of India — Digital. Since the 1990s, he has practised data and visual journalism across leading newsrooms — blending numbers, visuals, and text to tell richer stories and to create enduring annual news products.

About the Designer

Sajeev Kumarapuram is design editor at The Times of India. Early in his career, he made a rare and risky shift — from the world of text to one of visuals: layouts, illustrations, and infographics. It’s been a decade and a half since, and not a single day of regret.
